If you have recently moved over to Dubai for work you may be still settling into your role and not had much time to research what leisure activities you can do in your free time. This top ten list is the most recommended leisure activities you can do in Dubai if you haven’t done so already.

1. 4x4 dune bashing

One of the must things to do in Dubai is to experience the adrenaline rush of off road driving on the red dunes. This driving experience will be nothing like you have experienced before! These trips are normally organised tours that are well advertised around Dubai. It is said once you do dune bashing once you will be wanting to book in to do it again!.

2. If you have a head for heights, peer over the side of the world’s tallest building

The Burj Khalifa is over 828 metres tall and is currently the world’s tallest building. You have two main options in terms of visiting the Burj Khalifa. The first option is to go to a viewing platform on the 124th floor at around the cost of around $30 per person (which many have it described as looking out the window of an aeroplane!).  If you want to venture further, you can go to the 148th floor which is the tallest floor the public can access. Although this is a once in a lifetime experience this does come at a premium at around $80 per person. They also offer luxury packages for special occasions where you can have dinner overlooking undeniably one of the best views in the world.

3. Your children will never be bored at Legoland and IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park!

Most people wouldn’t think Dubai as child friendly place, but they would be wrong! As it could be said that there is more for kids in Dubai than there is for adults! One of the main attractions is the IMG theme park which is an indoor venue. There are rides to suit all ages and enough to keep your children busy all day long. There is also the famous Lego Land which puts the one in the UK to shame. This is a must for any Lego enthusiasts and one that you may end up spending a lot of money in the gift shop!

4. Dinner on your own private yacht

This may be one thing couples may enjoy for celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries or just for the sake of it! The river cruises offer a 5* dining experience with the bonus of seeing all the famous land marks of Dubai from the comfort of your luxury yacht. The trip is particularly spectacular just before sunset. The sunset in Dubai is said to be known by some locals as ‘the pink velvet sky’. The prices of this trip can vastly vary depending on whether you have your own private charter or share the yacht with other couples.

5. Experience 7* dining at the Burj Al-Alab

Dubai is the home to the only 7* hotel in the world and is one of the most iconic buildings of the UAE. Not only can you stay in luxury there, but you can also eat at their restaurants which offer French and traditional cuisine. After all that eating you may want to relax and watch the world go by at the Skyview bar. Whatever your taste there is somewhere you will find in Dubai that will tickle your taste buds. One of the most recommended sites to look on for the best reviewed restaurants in Dubai is TripAdvisor, http://bit.ly/2FZsVhf.

6. Experience the real Dubai whilst sitting under the stars

One of the must things to do in Dubai is to experience traditional Bedouin tents that offer a truly authentic experience that you will never forget. These tours normally include a meal and entertainment in the form of professional belly dancers. The best thing about this trip is being in the open desert with camels and birds of prey which the owners will share the most fascinating stories with there guests.

7. Shop till you drop in the Dubai Mall

This is one place not to miss if you love a bit of retail therapy! The Dubai Mall is the largest in the world and hosts every designer name you can think of. There is also an aquarium and ski run within the same complex, so comfy shoes are a must when visiting. The mall is open most nights till 2am (so if your jet lagged after a business trip this is the place to go).

8. Saddle up!

If you are a horse person you will love the endless activities you can do such as horseback riding, horse racing and polo. There is even camel racing which interestingly has one of the highest prize monies on offer in the world. If you fancy a spot of polo there are plentiful, state of the art facilities around Dubai that have been visited by royals from all over the world.

9. The Palm, a feat of human engineering

The Palm is a totally man-made island that was made into the shape of a palm tree. The island is home to the famous Atlantis Hotel amongst many others that are a truly amazing spectacle. The Palm has easy access routes as it has a tram line running through the ‘trunk’ of the island. This makes it an easy commute if you want a day pass to the Atlantis Hotel to use the famous water park. The hotel offers you the chance to get up close and personal with Dolphins which is a favourite for children and adults of all ages.

10. Visit the cultural heart land of Abu Dhabi

If you want to explore the UAE more take a tour and travel south along the Gulf coast to the UAE’s ultra-modern capital Visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, one of the world’s biggest mosques.
